International Operations: CAMESE members have operations in many countries.
Mandate: Founded in 1981, CAMESE, the Canadian Association of Mining Equipment and Services for Export, is a trade association which is a unique source of information on the export capabilities of over 250 firms providing a very wide range of goods and services to the world mining industry.
Features:
CAMESE is a trade association made up of Canadian member companies offering products and services to the mining industry. It was established in 1981 for the purpose of assisting members in exporting their goods and services. The association's more than 250 corporate members across the country supply the entire mining industry spectrum including mineral exploration, mine development, mining, mineral processing, environmental monitoring, smelting and refining.
The great strength of CAMESE is the members themselves. Most of these companies have been founded in Canada, initially to serve the Canadian mining industry, an important producer of mineral wealth. The Canadian mining industry is very demanding.
As a result, the companies that serve it offer high value, advanced technology. In brief, CAMESE provides its members with cost-effective international marketing support that is complementary to their own marketing and selling efforts. It is also the only organization collectively representing suppliers in advocating for a strengthened mining industry in Canada.
Here are some ways in which CAMESE assists members of the press:
· CAMESE can provide Canadian regional newspapers and journalists with assistance on story ideas on CAMESE member companies in their areas.
· Writers and editors preparing articles on specific mining projects, technologies or Canadian capabilities are invited to contact us. We can readily provide useful information for editorial and assistance in selling advertising to support the article.
· CAMESE's staff are available to provide information and/or interviews on topics such as the following: Canadian mining supply capacity, sustainability of the mining Industry, productivity and innovation in mining, mining regulatory issues, and export trade issues, particularly for SMEs (small to medium sized enterprises).
· Press releases and other information are available from the web site at http://www.camese.org/. To receive press releases when they are available, please register at http://www.camese.org/Members:

Dear Canadian Mining Supplier or Mining Company,
You are invited to help develop Canada's draft Mexico Commerce Strategy for the Mining Sector. Through a pilot project, CAMESE, with the participation of the Mexico and North America Division of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada, is posting a preliminary draft strategy on the web site http://mining.editme.com, where everyone is urged to review the document. CAMESE encourages you to provide input into this forum.
The strategy has two major parts, mining equipment and services, and mining exploration and development. If you know others with interest in this strategy please forward them this email and suggest they take a look at http://mining.editme.com.
The web site will only be available for four weeks (Sep 12 to Oct 10), so please visit it as soon as you can. As it will change and develop with participants' input over the next four weeks, you may wish to look at it from time to time and, if you wish, provide more feedback as it evolves.
If your company is well-established in Mexico this is your opportunity to suggest what you would like to see improve in the future. If your company has no activity in or knowledge of Mexico then this is your chance to state what your company needs to know before proceeding with that market.
The web site can be visited at http://mining.editme.com where a quick self-registration will allow you to view and modify the draft strategy. Your username can be either your company name, or if you prefer to remain anonymous, you can create a username that is not obviously you. For example a colour and a four digit number. While anonymity of input will be respected throughout the process and future reports, a valid email address must be supplied with your registration and Canadian laws regarding objectionable material, copyright and libel apply as they would in any other public business meeting context.
If you are not going to visit the web site, please provide a quick reply to this email letting me know why you will not participate. These replies are confidential and will only be used in aggregate analysis.
Canada's future Mexico Commerce Strategy for the Mining Sector will depend on the input you provide to this exercise. Your attention to this matter is appreciated.Best regards,
Spencer Ramshaw
